ABOUT me
My Artistic Journey
From a very early age, I have experienced and understood the world through my hands. Creating original objects has become my way of expressing the belief that we are all unique.
My work moves between fantasy, imagination, portraiture, and functional objects, blending new and recycled materials. Each piece carries its own story and meaning.
Perhaps something from my world will resonate with you.

Monica Moscoso has been a self-taught artist since an early age. Her creative practice is driven by a constant exploration of materials and techniques, including drawing, painting, jewelry making, object art, embroidery, ceramics, and doll making.
Born and raised in León, Guanajuato, Mexico, she studied Graphic Design before completing a year of figure drawing studies at the Academy of San Carlos in Mexico City. During this time, she also worked in a government agency dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Mexican folk art and crafts.
From 2005 to 2009, Monica lived in France, where she continued to nurture her passion for art and painting through figure drawing and art courses at the Sorbonne. In 2009, she moved to Canada and settled in Montreal, Quebec, where she worked in the screen-printing industry for four years. Since 2014, she has lived in British Columbia, where she continues to develop her artistic practice.
In 2019, she launched a line of customized dolls that combines embroidery, sewing, and character design. This project grew out of her lifelong fascination with puppets and their connection to creativity, imagination, and storytelling. Alongside this work, she continues to explore painting, embroidery, and ceramics, investigating how these mediums can interact and inform one another to create unique, handcrafted pieces.
Her work reflects a deep appreciation for traditional craft, material experimentation, and the stories that emerge where fine art, folk traditions, and contemporary making intersect.
